Longing for connection but feeling stuck in the past?

  • It can be exhausting to carry the weight of past experiences while trying to stay present in your relationships. If you find yourself feeling disconnected, anxious, or unsure of who to trust—including yourself—you’re not alone.
  • I work with people navigating PTSD and complex trauma to gently untangle what they’ve been through, reconnect with themselves, and begin to feel safer in their bodies and relationships.
  • Together, we’ll move at your pace to understand the patterns that developed for a reason—but may no longer be serving you. Over time, we’ll build space for more ease, clarity, and self-trust.
  • I’m deeply committed to creating an affirming space for queer individuals and those with marginalized identities—where you can show up fully, explore who you are, and process your experiences with care and respect.

Hello, I’m Megan Warnock, LICSWA

I’m an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) in Washington State. I graduated from Simmons University in 2024 and have experience working at a dual-diagnosis agency supporting individuals navigating both mental health and substance use concerns. Working with people through life’s challenges and growth is incredibly meaningful to me, and I feel grateful to do this work.

I understand how vulnerable, intimidating, and even awkward it can feel to start therapy. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are. At the same time, I believe it’s important to acknowledge that therapy isn’t always comfortable—and that’s okay. Growth often asks us to have difficult conversations and face uncomfortable emotions, but those moments can also lead to meaningful change.

I believe healing doesn’t only happen in the therapy office—it also happens through connection, rest, laughter, and spending time doing the things that help us feel like ourselves. I hope to offer a therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted, challenged when needed, and supported every step of the way.

FAQs

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance directly. I can provide a super-bill for clients who would like to seek out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance company.

I am also part of a group practice that accepts Aetna and, soon, Molina. If you have one of these insurance plans and would prefer to use your insurance benefits, please reach out to inquire about current availability through the group practice.

Questions to ask your insurance provider

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
  • What percentage of the session fee will I be reimbursed after my deductible is met?
  • Is there a limit to the number of therapy sessions that are covered each year?
  • Do I need preauthorization or a referral before beginning therapy?
  • How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement, and how long does reimbursement typically take?
Do you offer any reduced rates.

Yes. I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots to help make therapy more accessible for people who may not be able to afford my standard fee. If you’re interested, please reach out by email to ask about current availability.

Do you work with children and teens?

Though I offer family therapy services it centers around adult children and adult family members and I do not work with children or teens.

How long should I expect to be in therapy?

The length of therapy looks different for everyone. Some people come to therapy to work through a specific challenge and meet for a few months, while others choose to stay longer for ongoing support, personal growth, or navigating life’s transitions.

Together, we’ll regularly check in about your goals and make sure therapy continues to meet your needs. My hope is that therapy feels like a supportive resource for as long as it is helpful to you.

Do you see clients in all states?

No. I can only see clients in Washington State as this is the state I am licensed in. You must be a resident of WA and be in the state when we conduct therapy sessions in order to work together.

Where is your office?

I am based in Bellingham, Washington, and currently provide therapy exclusively through secure telehealth. This allows me to work with clients anywhere in Washington State, as long as you are physically located in Washington during your sessions.
